Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme (1TB) external hard drive

Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme (1TB) external hard drive, unlike the name, does not have any much extreme in spite of having decent and simply to use features. There are three ports supported for connection here (USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and eSATA) and you can connect it to almost any kind of computer, getting faster transfer speeds with the FireWire ports over USB. However, the support for FireWire 400 might upset those who depend on FireWire 800.

Another new feature that separate this FreeAgent from the older ones is the ability to work even in horizontal positions. The previous version mostly were able to work in vertical positioning. With regards to the design, there is one glowing design in the front that allows you to see the status of the drives storage and activity. Behind there are the connections for making use of this device with computers. However, you do not have an eSATA wire to make use of the eSATA ports. Also, there might be some cost cutting feel to the drive when you realise there is no CD available for the bundled software. They are all stored on the drive. You do not have much else with the pack apart from the wires for other connections. However, the guide book bundled with the drive is well documented and detailed for easier use and understanding.

The backup features in this software are the standard type. They allow you to backup a selected important part of your hard disk which is nice. Also, you can sync folders in this external hard drive.
